Soft and sexy

Vorrei un  maglione nuovo. Color cipria, morbido, caldo e sexy allo stesso tempo.

I'd like to have a new sweater. Beige, soft, warm and sexy at the same time. It would be so soft to become a second skin. With a pair of jeans and  beautiful flats or with ankle boots and a floreal dress. It would be perfect with high heels and a maxi golden clutch bag. Under the jumper, a light silk undershirt. In evidence a delightful centimetre of lace, for a funny play of contrasts. Ideal for every occasion, perfect for that evenings in which the only thought of going out make us shiver. But, armed with our best smile and a wonderful lipstick,  we go out facing weather's challenges.

The perfect Sunday

Come colonna sonora Giovanni Allevi. L'artista.
Pranzo domenicale all'americana, o meglio brunch. Breakfast + Lunch.

Eleganza, grazie!

The Sartorialist

Happiness is...

Happiness is a stolen kiss in a rainy afternoon. Happiness is opening the window to find a wonderful landscape or a magnificent monument. Happiness is a very good breakfast with your sweet half. Happiness is reading your beloved magazine after an hard-working week. Happiness is having sweet-smelling hair. Happiness is having true friendships. Happiness is  the right dress for an important evening. Happiness is when our cat comes and purrs. Happiness is feeling good without being perfect. Happiness is eating our favorite cake without thinking about calories. Happiness is listening to the radio and  finding that beautiful song without having looked for it.

You have to trust in something

Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was the love for what i did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of life, and the only way to be satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just get better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle. You have to trust in something. your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.

Chanel: the style

O aderenti e fascianti o larghe, allegre, divertenti.

We haven't still had the pleasure to dare autumn outfits becouse of the sky which is blue colored, as if it was summer again, but our love for fashion makes us already taste the 2012 summer. Chanel introduces its Collection in Paris. Elegance, refinement and an only mentioned sensuality trasform it into a big work of art. White will be the protagonist of the next year's hot season. The sheah dresses will be old rose, like the jackets that complete the look. The skirts, in tulle, linen or lace will be knee-lenght. There won't be half-measures. Tight or large and bright. Geometrical shape studied in details. Soft colours will be alternated hier and there with splashes of black, turquoise and green. Pearl buttons wil become little jewels applyed to clothes. Sleeves will be puffed, emphasized by feathers or lace. Hair will be gathered up with lot of pearls. Bags wil be little and chic. Coloured variations of the classical Chanel. The chainlet will give us the possibility to show them off as if they were precious gift-wrapped. Swimsuits will be white and elegant, matched with pearl belts that could be trasformed into very snob necklaces.

There will be.....

Perchè no, anche i gilet. Oro sugli occhi e sulle braccia. Anche gli orecchini, saranno oro. Moschino ci insegna. Che la nuova stagione abbia inizio!

There will be fluo colours, yellow tees, pink flats and orange highlighter sweatshirt. We will love glitter. On micro bags and on biggest ones. On little dresses and on t-shirts for the disco, where everything is possible. From Prada to Topshop and Hm, everything will be sparkling. Awaiting for Christmas. Thousand fringes will embellish our boots, shoulder bags and even our jackets. Why not, also our waistcoats. For a metropolitan cowgirl! Coat (fan fur coat please) will warm our winter, standing on everywhere, assuming strong and  bright colours, to stop cold season's monotony. We will fight against harsh temperatures starting from our heads and  the return of the heat. Large, romantic, brown or beige. The important thing is that you must have one. Tulle, declined in old rose, black or marc, will make us feel like a dancing  princess. For a special occasion or to make special your night. To be elegant as Charlotte Casiraghi does. Our sunglasses will be big and round. Gold on your eyes and arms. Your earrings will be gold too. Moschino teaches us. Waiting for winter cold season!

Verde militare!

Morbida, larga, e verde, verdissima.

Soft, large and green, military green. Two sizes bigger than the usual one. With rolled up sleeves, a big bag and a bracelets' cascade. So beautiful on a white tee and lot of necklaces: short, long and many pendants.  To personalize the black total look, matched with biker boots and a leopardskin scarf. With a pair of skinny jeans, high heels and gathered up hair.  Sexy, without exaggerating. With a flower dress, flat shoes and smoky eyes, so glam! With a pair of sweatsuit trousers.  Tight and grey, with glitter sneakers! With a white shirt, longer than usual, like a dress. I love the match made by military green and fluo colours. Yellow or pink. The surprise effect is certain! For those who don't want to abandon their shorts,  the outfit made by lace and green is really beautiful! And on your fingers thousands silver rings!

Bye bye fashionistas, it's time for elegance!

The fashion photographer: Mario Testino

Yesterday, a late September Sunday with a definitely summery taste, i visited Mario Testino's exhibition which takes place at Memmo's Foundation, in the historical Palazzo Ruspoli in Rome. Todo o Nada, that's the name of the event inaugurated in 2010 in Madrid at the prestigious Museum Thissen-Bornemisza, it's composed by 54 photos, which contain two concepts always present in his work: nude and fashion. The show includes images in which models wear Haute Couture dresses and others in which they are completely naked. The essence lives in the consideration of the processes and implications implied in the act of taking off clothes to reveal nudity. Among his magnificent portraits figure: Giselle Bundchen, Emma Watson, NAomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Julia Roberts, Claudia Schiffer, Diane Spencer, Kim Basinger and many others, represented in glamorous moments or in the privicy of their intimacy.

Short post: contrasts

I find very intresting the contrast created by the jeans shirt, large and for men, and the Missoni vintage sunglasses. The bag with an eccentric pattern matches very well with the denim material. I was not sure about the result, but it seems to be relly nice! Do you like it?

Black and Gold

Some days ago i told you about my desire to have a pair of point shoes. Here is my last purchase from Zara. I think that they are delightful and really cosy. A chic alternative to our ballerinas. Elegant and gold. I love accessorys of my outfit. The little Moschino bag worn like a bracelet and the hearted Adriana Campanile belt. I bought it some months ago at a second hand market in Rome called Borghetto Flaminio. I love hearts i am so romantic!
The red lipstick is so easy to apply. It's from Kiko!
Take care:-)

Camel + Jeans: I'm loving it!

Adoro l'abbinamento jeans + cammello.

I love  jeans + camel. It’s funny the version with a  jacket, denim pants and male shoes, the camel can also be used in the form of a pleated skirt, along with a tight shirt, for a look "so seventys". For those who chose the "total jeans", a mannish coat  plays down a match otherwise excessive. This color is also suitable for the work environment: brown sandals, a sleek pair of trousers, a blue shirt and a camel-colored blazer. Don’t forget a pair of black glasses (without lenses), to feel a little intellectual-chic. I think it's possible to have fun with fabrics and colors without being afraid of making mistakes. The camel color can be chosen in leather version, over a tight jeans jacket. The outfit made by  a pleated skirt and a denim shirt,  can be supplemented by a large and long camel-colored  mantle. I find that this combination is perfect for autumn days, characterized by mild weather in the afternoon, however, more rigid in the evening. My latest purchase is a long camel-colored blazer with pink inserts, from HM. I can’t wait to show it to you

Goodbye summer, Welcome autumn!

When summer ends, the melancholy always gets hold of me a little bit. This year, it seemed that the hot weather did not want to leave us. The sultry and sunny afternoons, confused our ideas   making us believe to be in the middle of that period, the most beautiful of all. In many areas, however  yesterday, the situation has suddenly changed. Strong rain and cold winds are the protagonists of this first weekend of autumn. The little things that make wonderful summer are now a sweet memory. It's time to say goodbye to all that made this season wonderful:  thousands barefooted walks on the sand, aperitifs with fresh seafood and jazz,  evenings spent with the nose looking at stars, picnics at the park with friends based on sandwiches, little lace skirts, worn out sandals, T-shirts with a naked shoulder, the straw bags deformed by the excessive weight, the smell of freshly cut grass, the song of the crickets at night and the smell of coconut sunscreen. To make the most enjoyable days "by half", the ones where you change from one season to another, I begin to think about the positive things that autumn will bring with him. So I am delighted and  I start the list: Saturday passed on the couch watching romantic movies, hot chocolate on those cold nights when you just do not go out,  weekends with pizza and amorous confessions, the white wool socks to keep you warm by reading a fashion magazine, roasted chestnuts, the smell of burning wood when you come home after a shopping afternoon with friends, long cardigans cinched at the waist by a leather belt, used as coats, the Hunter for a run to the supermarket and weekends in European capitals. One of the things that makes me so happy is probably a shopping weekend in London in late October. Already I see myself sitting at Sturbucks while sipping a good cappuccino and eating a  slice of lemon cake. I can not wait :-) But that's another story!

I’ve done it again. I fervently wish a wonderful pair of pointy heels shoes. I say I’ve done it again, because as  I told with high-waisted  pants and with bell bottom jeans,  with regard to these shoes I said “I will never wear them anymore, I don’t like”. This happened when fashion made me fell in love with round-point shoes. Unprepared for the sudden change, my only desire was to have a new pair of shoes. Tall, sexy and a rounded tip. In the low-cost version or YSL for the most particular. Purple to exaggerate or black for the most classic. So the unfortunate pointys ended   in the basement, in our dusty attic or undersold at flea market. The situation today is totally reversed. I want a pair of electric blue, with small studs that exalt the long end. If I had not the habit of giving what I do not like (temporarily) anymore, I could reuse the ones I had once: red with a small  bow. Beautiful are ones signed by Topshop. Maybe I should opt for a  glitter pair, so lovely and romantic. I love the Zara version. Even the silver one always by Zara, is beautiful and elegant. They remind me of those worn by Cinderella  at the Great Ball. I find it  perfect, with an ultra-mat pink lipstick , to break the routine of those cold and grey fall days, when the desire for something new and shiny could help us to go out  with a smile, despite the cold and the humidity!

Murals

A comfortable and simple floral dress  with a denim shirt. Shoes are the new H&M wedges, I bought them last Sunday. I thought they were not adapted for skirts, but I was wrong!
I love them also becouse they are so confortable!

September at the lake

If it was only for the heat, it would be the middle of July. The tones are however  those of the middle of September. The light of the sun illuminates the scene without being excessively hard. The leaves are losing their bright green. Here and there splashes of yellow, red and orange brighten up the landscape. A light haze surrounds everything, giving the lake a gloomy taste of summer ending. A farmer is burning some firewood and the air immediately smells of winter. Mixed emotions overtake me, fall is coming.

Sexy white shirt

Corre  l'anno 1990. Buona domenica!

The year is 1990. Julia Roberts, female protagonist  of the film "Pretty Woman",  is wearing a white masculine shirt, that of Richard Gere: tucked in a super short and snug skirt, with the sleeves rolled above the elbow and three  open buttons for a  feminine touch that never fails. The man's shirt, worn by a woman, is one of the classic scenes from "American films". Symbol of great physical intimacy and understanding, it becomes, if taken with a pinch of malice, very sexy. Terribly sexy.   Timeless elegance, this article is periodically reintroduced by fashion designers that  give it a touch of freshness and classic novelty . Stella McCartney, matches it with metallic blue pants and jackets to combine  refinement and eccentricity.  This summer I have loved wearing an extra-large linen version  as a custom cover. Accompanied by a cascade of gold bangles on my arms and a pair of jeweled  ultra-flat sandals, it was perfect for an aperitif on the beach. Hèrmes shows it as  dress for the city-style, along with suede  belt and  boots. The look is completed with a cowboy hat, so you can  turn into a "handsome rider."  The couple made by  light pants and white  unbuttoned shirt is very chic to give visibility to a tank top with lace details. (I will use this idea during winter, adapting it to the cold). To downplay the pairing black pants + white shirt, it can be useful to copy the example of Rachel Bilson. She adorns it with a big bow. All this during a walk with the dog.(I have never walked with Romeo, my dog, in this  glamorous way). The cream  leggings +  silk white shirt outfit from this Swedish girl won’t be loved by most people. But I think, as fashion is a  matter of taste, this look has to be accepted and admired. I find it so beautiful and alternative! In the event that you feel a little "bad girl" and the idea of putting an elegant white shirt is far from you, our old motorcycle boots will  help us to defuse the whole look! Happy Sunday!

Pretty ballet flats

When i was a child, I wanted to be a ballerina, I had a white tutu and beautiful pink  Repetto  ballet flats. Then I discovered that this wasn’t the right task to my personality. I had to follow strict discipline and I decided to abandon that road. Today I still have that pair of delicious and soft shoes,  in a silver box along with other sweet memories of childhood. Since then my foot has grown up (I have 40), but it remained in me a love for that kind of shoes. Some sources say that the first dancers flats were produced precisely by Repetto, for his son, the dancer Roland Petit. The factory was opened in 1956 and today, as then, has its headquarters in Paris, Rue de la Paix. Here, in addition to footwear for dancers from around the world they   produce those for everydays’ life, handmade and often limited edition.  The first one who launched the fashionable shoes of the dancers as not-to-dance was Audrey Hepburn.  She loved to match them with Capri pants and oversized sunglasses. They were created for her by Gattinoni and became indispensable both on set and in private life.
The opinions about these shoes are rather drastic: love them  or hate them. I belong to the first category. I think it is possible to fit our look,  chic or rock (to return to yesterday's post). Studded, along with blacks Leather leggings and a denim extra large shirt from your boyfriend’s closet, black low-cost, HM or Zara, with a high waist polka dot skirt and a light tank top,  the mouse-shaped tip, those of Marc Jacobs, with a cigarette light jeans and a white shirt,  leopard printed  matched with the two-pieces suit for a sexy career woman, a pair of Pretty Ballerinas with a fuchsia bow to feel like a diva. If you belong to the ranks  that hates these shoes, then this post is not for you :-) Soon an article on the 12 heel shoes!

Rock vs Chic

Rock or Chic? A voi la scelta!

A pair of red studded Converse by Gienchi  or an elegant pair of  timeless Chanel pumps? A long white tulle skirt and brown biker boots to become a urban princess or a  yellow cocktail dress for a drink at sunset? The perfect Olivia Palermo’s hair or oxygenated  and so transgressive one of Agyness Deyn? A pair of khaki pants or  metallic leggins? A white shirt that smells of laundry or a black  t-shirt with a glitter skull that shivers mothers and grandmothers? The pearl earrings or those shaped like a spider’s web of Delfina Delettrez? A big sweater  worn as a sexy dress for a trip to the countryside or a tight black jacket for an evening by candlelight? The book by Mario Testino starring the tormented and magnetic Kate Moss or the rules of etiquette  by Rossella Corneri? The fashionable London with its Carnaby Street,  its second hand markets,   its artists streets, its it-girls and  its improvised Pete Doherty concerts or Paris, with its elegance, its boulangeries, its romantic streets, the Seine and its  dancers of the Opera? Chic or Rock? The choice is yours!

Lipstick passion

The lipstick is the cosmetic  I prefer: red, orange, fuchsia, burgundy or plum, the important thing is to play with colors.
When I decide to take off a whim, then my choice is always on the lipstick.  I’ve thirty of them.
I have become an equilibrist. I can put it on anywhere, even in the most unthinkable places, if necessary. The important thing is not to be seen.
But I accuratly avoid passing it on the lips while at the wheel. Since I am already a bit clumsy, the effects could be devastating.
My absolute favorite color is  orange , especially when the outfit is simple or single color. In the evening I prefer dark colors, with a simple make-up on the rest of the face.
Yves Saint Laurent, introduced during the 70 years' the practice of numbering the sticks, and began the use of pink lipstick, which was  the protagonist, in 1977,  of the film Saturday Night Fever. (
I love this movie!)
The lipgloss was born during the 70 years, coinciding with the feminine revolution.
Diane Ross, began to overlap the lipstick to lip gloss, with  amazing results. This practice was taken up by Lancome in 2004, with the Juicy Wear Duo. On one hand, lipstick, on the other lip gloss!
The monthly Glamour ventures that during a lifetime (women) the consume is from two to four kilos.
It seems that in a year, women  swallow up a whole package. I, probably 2! :-)
If you suddenly got the urge to buy your first lipstick, perhaps some advices can be useful.
Do not totally trust the colors that appear in fashion magazines. In most cases, they are adjusted and therefore not reliable.
To test the color, use the inside of the arm, where the flesh  is closest to the lips.
A good lipstick needs a single coat.
If you need more than one, you would be faced with a low-quality product.  It’s better to avoid the purchase.
The lipstick has to be good also when make up is totally removed.
Only in this case it is really perfect for us.
To avoid looking like a clown when the lipstick is partially gone, draw the outline lips with a transparent pencil.
This will prevent that inelegant effect.
For a longer lasting result remove the excess lipstick with a clinex, then pass a  layer of powder then lipstick again and clinex for the last time.
The result is guaranteed!
See you next time :-)

Bell bottom trousers: I can't wait to wear them

Hang in the balance between desire to dare and fear to make mistakes, we often use clothes that make us feel calm in any situation. Jeans that have become like a second skin, white, shapeless Converse, the black dress which colour, because of too many washings, seems like a gray mouse's and heeled shoes which allow us to walk everywhere: in the disco or around the seven hills of Rome.
The desire to write this post, dedicated to the bell bottoms pants, arose after seeing the photo of Elle MacPherson. So beautiful with a pair of bell bottom jeans, matched to an elegant blue shirt and a leather bag. Continuing research, I found interesting pictures and I started thinking that it was now time to have a new pair for myself. I imagine that, as it generally happens with pants, the search will be difficult and exasperating, but the effect is assured.
Delicious in beige with a white shirt tucked into pants and a pair of flat brown sandals, in hazardous spotted, orange with wooden clogs to feel a 70' diva, in jeans with a black T-shirt with a colored, hippy scarf , along with high heels to play and enjoy fashion.
They're perfect even for the office with a short jacket to look thinner or with a tight and colorful blazer!
I can not wait to wear them!

See you soon!

Every month I run to the newsstand (if necessary also in pyjamas, braving the hot weather or a snowstorm, looking chic often very little) and I buy my beloved fashion magazine Elle.
The date on which you can find it for sale can  depend on the season: 17, 18 or 19 of the current month.
When I cross the threshold of the shop I always hope to be lucky and be able to have, within a few seconds, the newspaper in my hands.
Already I see myself sitting on the couch, sipping a cup of  vanilla tea, in the hands only Elle.
I love the smell of freshly printed newspapers as I love the new books.
It happens the same with the  just bought novels.  I approached the pages on the nose, like a truffle dog, attracted by this scent magical for me.
Quickly discarded the package, (insert the silent feature on the phone) and start reading. No one should disturb me, the magazine is in my hands and I have eyes only for her.
I start  reading the editorial by Danda Santini, director of the Italian edition.
I find his writing style perfect. I go crazy for the page that shows the foreign editions of the magazine that   allow me to browse in worlds different from mine. With a preference for everything related to Northern Europe: Sweden, Finland and Norway. I like the pages dedicated to books and recommended reading,   love, travel,   entertainment services and of course everything about fashion. Present, past and future.
For some months  I have noticed that the magazine has adapted itself to the phenomenon of fashion blogs.  There have been introduced services  where  photos are taken using attractive frames, which are not usual.
Innovative are  pages dedicated to the streetstyle.  They satisfy the desire to browse through other people’s wardrobe frivolously and  with a critical mood. Slowly I taste every single page, even those devoted to advertising. They are so beautiful and  in some cases, they look like works of art.
I remain enchanted by the house dedicated services. They are elegant and refined. I
got the urge to become interior designer or  buy a farmhouse in the hills around Siena.
And what about the pages dedicated to the kitchen? Simply delicious. They  allows  mortals like us to amaze all with magnificent looking dishes and delicious tastes.
With the hope of being  always able to have, even in a far  future, the opportunity to enjoy a magazine, flipping the pages one by one, slowly, as we do with those sweet that we would never end, I greet you, wishing you a wonderful Sunday.
